Flooring Properties

Santa Maria is pinkish or reddish brown, with fine, dark veins of color. It has a uniform medium texture, with straight to interlocking grain and medium luster. Its strength is similar to true teak. This species is regarded as an excellent hardwood for working by hand or machine. Santa Maria responds well to polishing, glues well, and accepts finishes well. This hardwood is also used outdoors, so its color change from sunlight should be minimal.

Janka Rating

Santa Maria has a hardness rating of 1150.
