What is Printed Vinyl Flooring?
Is printed vinyl expensive to buy?
It is made much like a page printed in a magazine -- inks are printed directly onto the vinyl sheet. Printed vinyl flooring comes in sheets or tiles that can be installed easily, and it is lower cost than most other flooring products. Printed vinyl is a bit different than inlaid vinyl, but those are the two main types. Printing can transform a sheet of vinyl into anything. The type of backing on your printed vinyl flooring will determine the adhesive that should be used. The manufacturer will include instructions or the dealer will tell you which is the best. Sheet vinyl is good for surfaces that may be subjected to a lot of water (perhaps a kitchen), as it will guard against seepage. Vinyl can be applied over flat, clean surfaces or even existing flooring as long as it meets those criteria. Older flooring may contain asbestos so leaving it in place can be a safer alternative to ripping it out.

A vinyl tile "rug" may be made, the same as using carpet tiles, in a child's playroom. This can add a little more durability to an area that is much played in, such as a playhouse or fort area.
