What is Printed Vinyl Flooring?

Printed vinyl is a bit different than inlaid vinyl, but those are the two main types. Printing can transform a sheet of vinyl into anything. Sheet vinyl is good for surfaces that may be subjected to a lot of water (perhaps a kitchen), as it will guard against seepage. Vinyl can be applied over flat, clean surfaces or even existing flooring as long as it meets those criteria. Older flooring may contain asbestos so leaving it in place can be a safer alternative to ripping it out.

A vinyl tile "rug" may be made, the same as using carpet tiles, in a child's playroom. This can add a little more durability to an area that is much played in, such as a playhouse or fort area.
