What Is Considered Exotic Flooring?

Are exotic floors expensive?

Exotic is often a word used in conjunction with tropical paradise scenarios, and they can be in other countries, or your own home. Exotic can also be bizarre, but as you are in control of your own home, how you want to decorate your rooms, whether exotic or plain, is entirely up to you. Exotic woods for your Floor, for instance, can range from the expensive but quirky and wonderful looking Tigerwood, to deep and rare mahogany, to the now more easily obtainable and available, and eco-friendly Bamboo Flooring. The latter comes in so many varieties now that it's pretty easy to get the look you want for your new exotic floors. Exotic means out of the ordinary and anytime the word is used, people usually think of a favorite foreign locale, or one they have seen in the movies or books. Exotic floors can spice up your home and life. After all, you have to walk on your floors all of the time.

Is Exotic Flooring For You?

Exotic touches can be for everyone. If you want a small touch of spice in your home, bamboo is the way to go. This type of exotic floor is easy to install and now is available in darker colors, different strip arrangements, vertical and horizontal planks, etc. Bamboo floors are not just for Giant Pandas anymore. Exotic touches can be in curtains or wooden floors or grass floors or sea grass mats, or decor, or even flower arrangements, whether real or silk. Exotic can be color and how it's used. Exotic floors can be light colored, or darker, or even whitewashed planks, depending on how you want to play out each room in your home. What the room is used for may also factor in to how much exotic you want in there. A jungle theme could be could for a baby, with bamboo floors and cute animals on the wall, but a Salvador Dali type of decor might be a tad too exotic for a baby or child. Those bent clocks could give a toddler nightmares.

Some Exotic Looks For Your Rooms

Dark hardwood floors and dark furniture, carved and often imported, can give a room an island look straight from Bali. Exotic floors made from Tigerwood, luxurious by themselves, need light curtains and simple furniture. Tigerwood is so exotic that a homeowner has to make sure they don't get carried away. Exotic floors can also include wonderfully colored ceramic or terra cotta tiles, and ceramic tiles can be so unique if they are inlaid with mosaics or shells or other objects. They can even be made by the homeowner, in memory of a special vacation or trip. What it all boils down to is the fact that a homeowner can make exotic floors from the simplest, or most exotic of materials. It all depends on what's at hand, what can be ordered and purchased, what can be created, and how adventurous the person is.
