Physical appearance
The Bolivian Cherry tree has an average height between 100-130 feet with the diameter of the trunk reaching 2-6 feet. The leaves are elliptical and average a foot long. The flowers blossoming off the stems are white. The tree also bears fruit, taking the form of a yellow berry which matures into a red cherry.
Flooring Properties
Bolivian Cherry is a durable, sturdy flooring material, being slightly harder than the renowned Brazilian Cherry. This wood is a dense, deep reddish-brown with very fine graining. With similar but greater density and stability as Brazilian Cherry, this wood is both popular and extremely durable as a flooring choice. It darkens slightly over time, its medium reddish brown becoming a deep red.
